B&B Urbino
The client asked for a modernization the space of a small apartment – initially rented to students – on the structural level. We imagined the restyling of the ambience with the tones and the furnishings of a 50’s-style personality, in order to reuse it as a private loft or a B&B. Taking advantage of the height and the light of the wide window, we created a comfortable mezzanine for the bedroom area with a canopy bed. Below the mezzanine, a small, functional open kitchen overlooks the dining and living areas. Finally, with the purpose of enhancing the dialogue between the inside and the outside of this 16th-century apartment – which overlooks the towers of the Ducal Palace – we placed a small but meaningful portrait of Federico da Montefeltro looking outside, along with a wide mirror “reflecting” this dialogue.
